Jaguars first game since November.
Jags took the lead early, with Reed Sayers finding Mason Lipsey in front of net, in the second minute. The game then developed into an end to end game of attacking hockey, until a tripping penalty on Swindon led to Cardiff having a man advantage, capitalising on this at 18.06, Tomos Dicker equalised.
Jags answered this with Sayers and Lipsey joining up again, only for Lipsey's shot to end up on the line, providing a tap in for Jay Warren. Swindon scored again quickly with a goal from Patrick Larkin, assisted by Oliver Crosby Clarke.
Cardiff replied with a goal just before end of second period, the final period started 2-3 to Swindon.
In the first seconds of the final period Carter Lloyd scored with a breakaway goal evening the score at 3-3.
Swindon were to reply with two breakaway goals of their own, first by Warren then by Sayers both beating the netminder with speed and great stick work. In the final minutes Jags stretched the lead to 3-6 with a goal from Samuel Bull.
With little time to recover, final score was 3-6, but it was a closer game than the scoreline suggests, Cardiff hit the cross bar twice and the post once but managed just 16 shots on goal compared to Swindons 30 shots.
