The first match of the season for the Jaguars was keenly anticipated although an away match at Romford is not the ideal way of facing off, the raptors have finished in the top three, at the end of the last three seasons.
The Jaguars opened the scoring in the first minute, with a well worked goal, Samuel Bull cleared the puck up to Jason Warren only to receive it back in front of goal to finish, a great start but 3 minutes later Raptors equalised after Swindon went a man down after a tripping penalty.
The next three goals were scored by Mason Biddulph, clearly the stand out player for Romford, his skill was difficult for Swindon to contain, the first half ended 4-1.
The second period was better for Swindon, but they were 5-1 down before Mason Lipsey scored a fine individual effort. They gave up fewer penalties in the second but still looked like they needed more time to gel on the training rink! Play was end to end in the last few minutes with four goals in the last five minutes.
End result was 7-4 to Romford, MOM Romford Mason Bidduplh, with 6 of their goals! MOM for Swindon Mason Lipsey with a goal and an assist.
